I have an alphasmart 3000 and love it. And I&#39;m also looking for AZERTY keyboard with accents. I found a place to install french software on the machine, but have not tried it. It looks very nice ! But the battery life seems insignificant compared to an Alphasmart : only 3 hours.<BR/><BR/>If you require to run Open office, this rules out many options. I'm looking for a cheap, portable writing tool, and I've considered it. My concern is the small screen and the inability to install software I use (OpenOffice).<BR/><BR/>I'm considering the Asus eee (when it finally comes out). It's a cheap, small laptop, but I've heard that they seem to be put together pretty cheaply.<BR/><BR/>I'm subscribing to your feed and looking forward to reading any comments on the alphasmart.
