The mission has begun...

I am a 21 years old programmer from France. But my main hobby is writing. I've written short fictions (from 1500 to 30.000 words), articles for websites and I used to do heavy journaling from 1998 to 2005. Last year, I also won NaNoWriMo (a worldwide novel writing contest, held each November).

All these prior achievements have been made with fictions/articles/journal entries in french. But this year, my goal is to broaden my skills (and audience ?)... by writing and - hopefully - winning NaNoWriMo 2007 with a novel in english.

This blog will be updated with my latest progress towards achieving my "writing mission". I also plan to share some general writing tips ! So until next time,

Good luck with the English novel. I'm also debating if I should write in English from time to time. Maybe I should start with a short story.

A 4-hours long daily commute is definitively a good chunk of time when it comes to writing. (I would probably go crazy if I was in your situation, but hey, I'm not!) :-)

Thank you for your support ! Short stories are indeed a good way to train before jumping into longer works (that's what I've been doing - in french - before NaNo 2006. And I'll probably do the same for NaNo 2007)

And yes, my daily commute is a pain, but writing writing and writing helps a lot :)

Just curious, are you doing NaNo 2007 ?
